The 16th Meeting of the Heads of South East Europe National Security Authorities (SENSA) took place in Pristina on 2–4 September 2026, organised by the Agency for the Protection of Classified Information (APCI), in coordination with the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC).
The meeting brought together heads and representatives of security authorities from across the region to strengthen institutional cooperation and exchange experiences and practices on the protection of classified information within the justice system.
Discussions focused on the handling and declassification of classified information, access to sensitive material, and the review of security clearance decisions. Participants also addressed the need to maintain a balance between the requirements for protecting classified information, judicial independence, and fair-trial guarantees.
Particular attention was given to cooperation between security authorities and judicial and prosecutorial institutions, emphasising the importance of clear procedures, staff training, and regular institutional coordination. Participants also discussed opportunities for the further development of the SENSA network and the advancement of regional cooperation in this field.
